The GrowerSELECT® HS689 Control Unit Switch Assembly is designed as a replacement switch assembly for the HS693 control unit. It can also be used as a direct replacement for other OEM control unit applications. The HS689 is designed for flexible auger feed systems where control of the auger drive motor is required.
Power to the auger drive motor is controlled through feed pressure being applied to a diaphragm coupled to an electrical switch internal to the control unit housing. The switch is used to control the auger drive motor by turning off the power when feed is present and turning on the power when feed has been removed from the control unit housing.

The sensitivity of the electrical switch is not adjustable.

A red indicator light on the side of the switch housing will illuminate when diaphragm has been pressed (MOTOR OFF) and the switch has been activated.
Note: Proper use of time-delays in fill systems eliminate the opportunity for fill system motors to short-cycle. Short-cycling a motor is any cycle that does not allow the motor to be off for a MINIMUM of 1-minute between starts. Short-cycling of a fill system motor will result in increased operational heat and cause thermal tripping followed by component failure. Testing indicates that short-cycling will result in 10x shorter motor life compared to units run with acceptable cycle rates.
